Conductor - setting up
Conductor

To enter the settings page, tap the top area of the screen (A). The settings page allows you to access the settings for tap and shake tempo, plus general settings (B). You can also set the tempo here as well (C).

Settings

Tap the top area of the screen (A) to enter settings

In the Tap and Shake settings menu, you can control the tap-tempo and shake-tempo settings, and also whether Conductor tries to guess the beats per bar you want.

Settings

You can switch on and off the tap and shake detection independently of each other

Guessing the beats per bar can also be turned off. This is useful if you want to set the tempo with only a couple of taps or shakes.

Interface settings

You can optimise Conductor for your own playing style. For example, I prefer to switch off the beat counter, accenting and sound. This way, if I need to pause a bit, I can drift a beat or two and not worry that I am out of sync with Conductor.

Settings

Show beat counter turns off the counter at the top of the main screen. Turning off Visualise first beat will stop the ball bouncing harder on the first beat of the bar

By default, Conductor dims part of the interface when you are not interacting with it. This is so that you can watch the ball bouncing out of the corner of your eye without distraction.

Settings

Don't sleep keeps your iPhone or iPod touch awake while Conductor is running (i.e. it won't time out to save power). Turning off Dim display keeps the interface at full brightness all the time

Sound? I thought this was a visual metronome... Well it transpires that whether you build a visual metronome or not, people always ask to hear it click. Interestingly, it doesn't take them long to ask how to silence it — so here's the switch.

Settings

Click turns the sound on or off, while Accent first beat causes a higher click on the first beat of the bar

You have the option to change the style of the ball here. There are more ball-syles coming soon, so watch this space...
